Let' s bring state recognition to Gastronomy!
Every year, the Office of the President of the Republic accepts nominations from the public for state honours. Anyone can nominate a person who has made an exceptional contribution to the Czech Republic.
Let us show together that gastronomy is an essential part of Czech culture, of the nation’s everyday identity, and of its intangible cultural heritage. Let us highlight its importance and send nominations to Prague Castle for personalities who could receive recognition not only for themselves, but for all of us.

Who receives state honours?
In the Czech Republic, state honours are awarded to scientists, athletes, artists, soldiers, and other individuals whose work contributes to the development of society and represents our country.
People working in Czech gastronomy play the very same role — chefs, pastry chefs, winemakers, farmers, and many others who preserve traditions, create new values, and represent the Czech Republic both at home and abroad through their work.
Awarding a state honour to a personality from the field of gastronomy is not a matter of a passing trend. It is an opportunity to recognize gastronomy as a fully-fledged bearer of cultural identity, shared values, and the representative role of the state.
Anyone can submit a nomination!
A proposal for the conferment or award of a state honour may be submitted directly to the President of the Republic by anyone — an individual, a group of people, or an organization. For nominations, we recommend choosing the Medal of Merit.
Nominations must be submitted through the online form no later than June 1, 2026.
Submitting a nomination only takes a few minutes, but it can have a significant impact.
Thank you!
